This course will show participants how to identify and assess risks arising from DSE use.

It will also discuss how to reduce risk by implementing relevant control measures and how to manage the assessment process.

This full day (6 hour) course will cover the following:

  • Explain the relevant health & safety legislation, including specific details of the Health & Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992, and as amended in 2002
  • The causes of Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders
  • Discuss basic anatomy of neck, back and upper limb
  • Show how the body may interact with an office environment
  • Discuss points to look for in seating
  • Visual Issues associated with DSE use
  • Psychological and Organisational Issues associated with DSE use
  • Individual risk factors associated with DSE use
  • How to achieve a good working posture
  • How to ensure that the desk area is well organized
