Bronwyn Clifford
Bronwyn

Chartered Physiotherapist and Ergonomic Consultant

Registered with the Health Professions Council

Bronwyn is the managing director of Physio at Work Ltd. She graduated in physiotherapy from the Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand in 1996 and moved to London in 1998.

Bronwyn completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Ergonomics from the University of Surrey in 2001.

She has since worked as an Occupational Health Physiotherapist and Ergonomics Consultant for variious industries including television, healthcare, finance and Parliament. Her work has involved providing on-site physiotherapy, DSE training, manual handling training, back care awareness classes and general ergonomic training and advice.

As a physiotherapist Bronwyn specialises in treating work-related musculo-skeletal disorders, primarily repetitive strain injuries (RSI) and back pain.

Bronwyn served as the Publicity Officer for the executive committee of the Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics ACPOHE) for 4 years.

She continues to assist the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy with media campaigns surrounding work related disorders such as back pain and Repetitive Strain injury (RSI)

Dino Michalakis

Dino graduated from the Auckland University of Technology in 2001.

After spending 5 years working in Private Practice in New Zealand, which included travelling with a premier football club, Dino came to London as part of his traditional 'Kiwi' overseas experience.

He specialises in treating musculoskeletal complaints with a special interest in sports and spinal injuries. He also has an interest in treating work related complaints such as Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI).

In his spare time, Dino enjoys competing in long distance running, triathlons, squash and golf.

Matt Payne

Matt

Matt graduated in physiotherapy from the Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand and worked in private practice before relocating to London in 2006. He spent 2 years working at King Edward VII Hospital in London treating mainly orthopaedic conditions before joining Physio at Work.

He is currently completing his postgraduate degree in Sports Medicine and has a special interest in treating sports injuries and in the biomechanics of the lower limb

Matt has a keen interest in sport, having played Premier level cricket both in New Zealand and now England. He has worked in numerous sporting environments including provincial rugby and football sides, and is currently the New Zealand Under 19 cricket physiotherapist.

Georgia Caldwell

Registered with the Health Professions Council

Georgia completed her physiotherapy degree at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. She worked in both the public and private sectors in acute and rehabilitative medicine, whilst maintaining a keen interest in Sports Physiotherapy. She moved to the UK in March 2008 and currently works in the private Wellington Hospital as well as in private practice with Physio at Work.

Georgia’s main interests lie with injury rehabilitation and prevention. As a trained neurological physiotherapist Georgia also specialises in the treatment of neurological conditions including stroke, head injuries, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease.

Outside of work Georgia is a keen runner, skier and tennis player.

Karen Korber

Karen

Registered with the Health Professions Council

Karen qualified as a physiotherapist in 1998 from Witwatersrand University, Johannesburg, South Africa. She came to the UK in 2000 and has worked primarily in private practice since.

Karen is also qualified as a Pilates

Instructor who also trains other physiotherapists in the Pilates method. She uses acupuncture as part of her treatments and has recently attained a post-graduate certificate in acupuncture from Coventry University.

Karen’s approach in treatment is based on a biomechanical model of the body, treating the cause of an injury not just the symptom, working on and correcting muscle imbalances, not just treating injured tissues. She has a special interest in shoulder and upper limb problems and has extensive experience in treating and rehabilitating spines post operatively. Karen has worked with a professional Ice Hockey team and the Great Britain Bobsleigh team.

Sofia Cunha

Sofia completed her BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy from the Superior School of Health of Vale do Sousa, Portugal. She worked in both the NHS and private practice in Portugal before traveling to the UK. Since her arrival Sofia has primarily worked as an on-site

physiotherapist in Occupational Health Departments within corporate organisations. A ‘hands on’ physiotherapist, Sofia is also currently completing a degree in Osteopathy. She is trained in pilates and frequently incorporates pilates based exercises in her rehabilitation programmes for clients. She enjoys treating all musculo-skeletal conditions, however as a trained classical ballerina, she has a special interest in treating dance injuries especially foot and ankle problems.

Sofia is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, also speaks ‘a little’ French and Italian. She enjoys dance classes and amateur dramatics in her spare time.

Claire Slater

Chartered Physiotherapist and Osteopath

Registered with the Health Professions Council and General Osteopathic Council

Claire is qualified as both a physiotherapist and Osteopath. She graduated as a physiotherapist from the University of Brighton in 2004 and went on to graduate as an Osteopath from the London School of Osteopathy in 2008. She is registered with both the Health Professionals Council (HPC) and the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC).

Having worked within the NHS and privately Claire has developed an extensive knowledge base and utilises a broad range of physiotherapeutic and osteopathic clinical skills. Some of the treatment techniques that Claire uses are gentle massage, rhythmic joint movements, muscle release techniques, manipulation, dry needling (a form of acupuncture), and cranial-sacral therapy.

She enjoys treating a wide range of conditions including neck and back pain, arthritis, headaches and migraines, neurological disorders and sports injuries.

Chris Schafer

Podiatrist
Registered with the Health Professions Council
Member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists 

Chris qualified in 1992 with a Podiatry BSc(Hons). He has been practicing podiatry in both the NHS and private sectors for the past 15 years. Chris specialises in musculo-skeletal

podiatry assessing the mechanics of normal and problematic gait. He enjoys treating sports injuries and making custom made foot orthotics. He is a keen runner having run 5 marathons, and is experienced in training techniques to improve running efficiency as well as treating injuries. 

Brian Swanton

Brian Swanton

Sports Massage Therapist 

Brian trained at St.Mary’s University, Twickenham in sports & remedial massage, with further specialization in sports injuries and sports therapy. He is an experienced therapist having worked with various elite athletes at international level.

Brian was a Great Britain champion in Irish dance and held a World ranking of No.3.

He turned professional in 1996 performing with Riverdance - The Show.

He has worked in dance and theatre touring companies as a sports massage therapist and in sports injury clinics in London since 2002.
